Golden Brooks is a well-known Hollywood actress and a famous Television personality. She is also an outstanding comedienne. She won the BET Comedy Award for 'Outstanding Supporting Actress' in a Comedy Series for "Girlfriends" in 2004.
Golden Ameda Brooks was born on December 1, 1970 in San Francisco, California, USA. She studied sociology and literature at UC Berkeley and earned her Master's degree from Sarah Lawrence College in Bronxville, New York. Golden Brooks has essayed various roles in movies and television She has starred along with the likes of Queen Latifah, Vivica A. Fox and Kevin Bacon. Golden Brooks is currently playing the character of Maya Wilkes, Joan's sharp-tongued secretary and now acclaimed author, on the CW sitcom, "Girlfriends". In this sitcom her character is several years younger than the other "girlfriends" Joan, Toni, and Lynn. On an episode of "Moesha -- That's My Mama" Golden Brooks again plays the character Maya. "The Game", a spin-off of "Girlfriends" involving Tia Mowry will soon be telecast on the new found CW. Golden Brooks has so far acted in "Something New", "Beauty Shop", "Motives", “Impostor", "Asylum", "Timecode", "Hell's Kitchen" and "Drive by: A Love Story". Her Television shows include, "Girlfriends" as Maya Wilkes in 34 Episodes from 2000-2007; "Linc's" TV Series as CeCe Jennings in unknown episodes; "Enterprise" in 2 Episodes; "The Adventures of Pete & Pete" Series {1993-1996} and other single episodes.
